Well, it looks like we're keeping the V8Estate.
All day
yesterday, she's going on to anyone who'll listen about how big it is,
how ugly it is, how she doesn't like it etc etc etc..
So,
yesterday evening and we're finishing up. I decide that I 'need to bring
some stuff home' so I go around the corner to the car park bring the
bus back and park it up outside, pop the boot and load stuff
in.
'That's very handy' she says. 'Couldn't do that in the Z4', she says.
'Can I drive it home?'
I hand her the key.
She
spends 15 minutes playing with the 18 way orthopaedic seats and then
finds the seat-heater. The job of selling the car is 50% complete.
We drive home, the long way.
'Turn off the A/C so that I can hear the engine' she says.
'Oooo, look at the on board computer' she says, after finding it on the TV screen.
'Pity
it only has a tape player' she says...'But I suppose we can just fit an
Ipod dock and be done with it. The stereo is good' She says.
Turns on to the Barna Road........ and focking floors it, Fintan.
The yoke hunkers down and takes off.
'Mind the brakes' I say....' They're not great and it's a lot of car to stop'
She gets a little fright trying to arrest the progress before the right turn, turn to me and says... 'It'll need bigger brakes too'
I laughed.
Drove home, spent ages inspecting every cubby hole in the thing. Walked around it a few times. Said nothing.
Then this morning, she says... 'I suppose, if we were sensible, we should really look at a few more cars, for balance, like'
'We could' I said.. 'but I really couldn't be arsed'
'Me neither' she says.
'How would you feel about offering
33% less than asking for that one and spending 2.5 - 3 grand on making
it really cool' I says.
'Can we get parts for it' She says.
'We can' I said.
'Hmmmm......' She says.
Gentlemen, let Projeckt BabyTransportenV8stylee commence. :)
